Our Buildings

Our Parish began in 1942 with sixty families.  With the church construction completed in 1953, the parish was named in honor of Our Lady of Fatima.  The formal dedication took place on October 13, 1953, in commemoration of Our Lady's sixth and final appearance at Fatima in Portugal. Since the State of Connecticut had just been divided by the Holy Father into three dioceses, our parish was among the first to be established in the newly-formed Diocese of Bridgeport.

Two years later, in 1955, our first Pastor Reverend Leonard Conlon, directed the construction of the Rectory.

A school was added in 1962.

Additional office areas and a conference room were added onto the rectory building and dedicated on January 19, 1992. Our parish had grown to 1375 families.

1995 saw the expansion and renovation of the church and Parish Center.  It was dedicated on the Feast of All Saints, November 1, 1995.   See the "Our Stained Glass Windows" section for photos and explanations of the beautiful stained glass artwork featured in the new church.
